Frequently Asked Questions
No, I cannot work with insurance because I do not have a license to diagnose or treat mental health disorders.
However, many of my clients have had success in getting reimbursed by their HSA. I can provide receipts for sessions paid on a monthly basis by request.
Sessions cost $145 / $120 / $95 per session, depending upon your financial situation.
Using your gross annual income and family size (income earners plus dependents), find your percentage of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) to determine which of my rates you are expected to pay.
For example, my partner and I will gross around $85K this year, with two young children as our dependents. This places us at roughly 260% of the FPL, so we would pay the mid rate of $120.
351% FPL or above — Upper Rate ($145)
251% to 350% FPL — Mid Rate ($120)
250% FPL or below — Lower Rate ($95)
Relationship therapy sessions are 50-minutes long, once a week or every other week depending upon your availability. It's common for folks to come in monthly for a few sessions after completing their goals to ensure and support lasting change.
The approach I use (Relational Life Therapy) is known to catalyze quick and lasting transformation. Many weekly clients report significant progress within five sessions, and most within twelve sessions (three months.) Some clients choose to continue working together for longer to help deeply integrate the new ways of relating.
Either! If you’re able to come in person, wonderful. My office is lovely and cozy, but requires traveling up a flight of stairs. Online is always available if you aren’t able to come in person occasionally or ever for whatever reason.
The main approach I use for relationship therapy is Relational Life Therapy (RLT), developed by an internationally recognized family therapist, speaker, and best-selling author, Terry Real.
RLT is known to catalyze quick and lasting transformation by using a three-pronged approach congruent with what is currently understood in relational neuroscience:
Exposing the dysfunctional relational pattern
Activating the wise adult self with experiential parts-based trauma work
Practicing the relational skills needed for vulnerability, empathy, and accountability
